Enjoy this circular walk down green lanes discovering the beautiful lush upper reaches of the Yealm. Learn a little about the industrious history of the area though archaeological heritage.
Distance / terrain: 7 miles, footpaths, green lanes some surfaced roads. Grade: Easy to moderate. Date: Sunday 11th Oct 2009 Timing: Start 10am, return approx 3pm. Leader: Brian Steele for the AONB.
Meet at: Yealmpton car park, on the main road. Map ref: SX580518. Bring: Lunch and a drink, binoculars may be useful. Restrictions: Dogs on leads welcome.
Travel Directions: Yealmpton is on the A379 Plymouth to Kingsbridge road, approx 7 miles east of Plymouth. Public Transport: Bus - First South Devon No. 93. Please see www.traveline.org.uk for timetable details. Parking: Yealmpton car park in the centre of Fore Street (almost opposite the Rose & Crown pub) or surrounding roads. Please note this is a small car park so please allow plenty of time to find a parking space. Parking fee: Free.
